They can't stand the fact that Cinderella is becoming the center of attention and receiving so much praise and admiration. Their envy fuels their anger, making them even more mean-spirited and cruel towards Cinderella. They will stop at nothing to try and bring her down and make her feel miserable, all because they can't handle their own insecurities and jealousy.
